Joie Bose, is an Indian English poet and writer living in Kolkata. Her debut collection Corazon Roto and Sixty Nine Other Treasons (2015) received much acclaim. She has edited two volumes of poetry Dawn Beyond the Waste(2016), Attic Diaries(2016) and Cologne of Heritage: Incredible Bengal(to be published in 2017). She has written a preface to Hon’ Governor of West Bengal, Shri Keshrari Nath Tripathi’s “I am love”(2017). Her works have been translated in Bengali, Albanian and Japananese. She received the Microsoft Create to Inspire fellowship(2015-16) to promote and propagate poetry in Kolkata. The General Secretary of Poetry Paradigm, she is one of the most popular English language poets of Kolkata. She has been felicitated and regcognised for her work by several bodies. Internationally, she has toured Japan and Shanghai with her poetry and has performed in several literary festivals in India. Her works have been published in many anthologies, journals and newspapers including Beyond the Diaper Bag, Rage of the New Ancestor, Muse India, The Statesman and The Telegraph. She takes on the role of an advisor and the convener of the National Poetry Festival and is trying to establish the Indian Poetry Library(Kolkata). She uses poetry and writing as therapy and helps people combat depression through creativity.
