Dr. Arun Kumar Rath
Prof Arun Kumar Rath is a leading policy maker, an outstanding educator, writer and above all a visionary institution builder. During his distinguished career as a civil servant in the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) spanning over three decades, Dr.Rath made significant contributions in various fields of Indian administration.
Dr. Rath contributed to enactment of the long-awaited Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act 2009, which has been hailed as landmark legislation in independent India. Dr Rath played an exemplary role in shaping the School of Public Policy and Governance at MDI Gurgaon and the Centre for Corporate Governance and Social Responsibility at International Management Institute New Delhi as its Chairman.
Dr Rath is a prolific writer in English and Odia. His book “Towards Better Corporate Governance: Independent Directors in the Boardroom” based upon his path finding doctoral research has been highly acclaimed. His outstanding Odia book “Antarctica Diary O Anyanya Bhraman Kahani ”containing twenty four travel stories based upon his travels to the ice continent and other exciting destinations around the world has been hailed as a masterpiece of modern Odia literature.
